Law Works is pleased to welcome two articling students to the firm.

Gleb Matushansky

Gleb graduated with a J.D. degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto earlier this year and joined the firm in July.

Before law school, Gleb obtained an Honours Bachelor of Administrative Studies degree from York University, where he graduated with a specialization in Marketing.  Last summer, Gleb worked as a Research Assistant at the Osgoode Mediation Clinic.  He also worked at the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario as a Law Student consultant with the Regulatory Compliance branch, a position he kept throughout his last year of law school.  Gleb had previously worked as a Law Summer Student with William G. Horton at WGH Law, a leading international Canadian arbitrator.

At law school, Gleb was the President of the Osgoode Alternative Dispute Resolution club, and was involved in the Osgoode Mediation Clinic, the Osgoode Jewish Law Students Association and volunteered with the Family Law Project.  Gleb is currently a Board Member of The York Centre and a Vice-Chair of the Nominating and Governance committee. Gleb enjoys traveling, soccer, and scuba diving.

Jeffrey Nguyen

Jeff graduated with a J.D. degree (with an Option in Law and Technology) from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law earlier this year and joined the firm in October.

During his time in law school, Jeff developed a well-rounded legal experience by working in both the public and private sectors, including internships at the Competition Bureau Legal Services; Labour Program, Legal Services Unit; the Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic; and a number of local firms in the Ottawa area. Jeff has volunteered for Pro Bono Students Canada, as well as the University of Ottawa’s Asian Law Students’ Society.

Before his legal career, Jeff coordinated large-scale market research projects tracking brand awareness and advertising effectiveness in the gaming and tourism industries.  In his spare time, Jeff enjoys music, various gaming activities and practicing martial arts.

During their articling terms, Gleb and Jeff are working under Ben Hanuka’s supervision on the firm’s commercial and franchise litigation and arbitration cases across Ontario.
