We are pleased to announce that Sama Al Mutair and Sarah Ellen McMahon joined Law Works as articling students as of July 8, 2019.
Sama Al Mutair
Sama graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law earlier this year.
During her time in law school, Sama was a research team member in a clinical course affiliated with the TradeLab global network. In this role, Sama co-authored a published report for the International Trade Centre in Geneva. Her team was selected to represent the University of Ottawa in the 2018 Society of International Economic Law Conference at the American University of Washington. Sama also participated in the Nelligan O’Brien Payne Moot, and volunteered as a peer mentor for the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program.
Before law school, Sama completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Toronto. During her undergraduate term, she was a teaching assistant for several economics courses. She was then selected as a student panelist to help with the teaching-stream recruitment cycle for the Department of Economics. Sama also co-founded the Right To Play student club at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus.
In her free time, Sama enjoys travelling, listening to French classical music, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Sarah Ellen McMahon
Sarah obtained her J.D. from Western University, and her Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University, with a major in Law and Business. While in her third year of law school, Sarah studied abroad at the National University of Singapore.
During her law school summers, Sarah worked for Scotiabank and First National Financial.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys golfing, watching documentaries and going to museums.
