Commercial Litigation Law Clerk
The Role
We are looking for a highly organized Litigation Clerk with 5+ years experience, to take primary responsibility for the procedural and evidentiary management of our files. Working directly with our principal and associates to ensure all litigation steps are carried out properly.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procedural schedules and complex court filings under the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Manage the identification, collection, and organization of electronic documentary evidence. Prepare comprehensive briefs, motion records, and electronic materials for motions/applications, trials, arbitrations, and appeals.
- Draft pleadings, documents lists, and bills of costs with minimal supervision.
- Keep timetables tight and deadlines met across all active files.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Commercial Litigation Clerk
- Strong command of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure; proven ability to learn and apply other Canadian jurisdictions quickly
- High proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Word (advanced formatting)
- E-discovery and case management software experience are considered assets
- Disciplined, detail-oriented, and comfortable moving between high-level file management and hands-on tasks
- ILCO certification or law clerk diploma
The Position
Full-time or part-time. Hybrid for GTA-based candidates.
