On June 14, 2014, Law Times quoted Ben Hanuka commenting about an appellate ruling in the Davenport Law Firm conflict of interests case that protection of the public should take priority over new law firm structures.

In the appellate ruling, a judge of the Superior Court of Justice reversed a lower decision by a master of the same court, and ultimately held the law group to be in a conflict of interest with a client.

The appeal decision and article in Law Times follow an article featured last year on the cover page of the Law Times on October 7, 2013, in which Ben Hanuka was critical of the master’s original ruling and called it a “dangerous precedent”, for not finding the law group to be in a conflict of interests.
